A little too Link for me. The gameplay art is a smidge too basic. Too zoomed out? If only by 3 squares a side, I guess. I'm probably just used to better RPG worlds. And the problem with homebrews? Everybody thinks they've got something cool. As a Nethack player, Step count and timer is nice touch. The player equipment menu needs some figuring out. Too many nested players, not enough clarification. Sure _you_ know what you're doing, everyone else has to learn what button does what and wether or not that's the submenu that they wanted to be in. Oh there's a fight scene? The names arn't so clear against the player background, but the portraits do help ID the chars. Is everyone zombies _before_ they get killed?! Why are they doing crazy amounts of damage? 383 hp damage to a early level monster while armed with punches and sticks is a wonky system. Knock it down a digit or just say it's hacked for demo purposes. :) When you find the treasure chests, there should be a list of goods found.
Anyway it's probably an OK game. Nothing too special but anything can find someone to hook. Being a zombie should have some plusses and minuses. Like a damage resistance, but a hard time getting HP back. You should probably start out a human (or elf or whatever) and could choose to become a zombie when a player is killed. Like a cheapo ressurection spell that you can't take back. So you're in a sleepy little village somewhere- but where will the game take you? Distant lands and evil wizards? Evil kings? Secret socities to topple and magic items to confiscate? Swamps to invade and big cities to sneal into, that you have to sneak into because you've got a zombie on the team? I expect that you'll be sneaking into between-game Hyrule through the sewer system at some point in the game. Perhaps you should go play Dragon Wars, or Wasteland, favorite RPGs of mine. Maybe some Blade of Destiny if you've got the time. A day or two of that and you'll see what I'm judging you by. At least you're putting one together yourself. Adding a plot, a goal will be a better attention keeper. A little skimming through the Guide for Evil Overlords or just sitting back to some Flash Gordon over dinner might help you drum up a plot.

Just so you know, they're only race of zombies who DON'T want to eat human brains...

Well not all old-time reanimated dead did. Vampires didn't even start out drinking blood. A benefit of a RPG setting is that it isn't stuck in modern times. (I don't know which I dislike more- Potter or Twilight) So a question might be who raised the zombies and is there any salt around? Salt was expensive to start with, I could see zombies being raised by salt-makers to raise the price of salt even more. Now how is that plan to go greatly wrong? :hmm:

"Conquest"? Was Plauge out sick? Conquest isn't a Horseman, and isn't one of the unstoppable/uncontrollable things that happen to pesants. (insect=pestilence, army burning down your crapsack village=war, etc) Still I like the look of Connie, ever read Shortpacked? May as well keep her. More challenges are always good.
Add/subtract party members is a good a thing to add to the game. Though in my experience, unless you need a certain guy for a certain task, the NPC's arn't worth much compared to the players you've spent a weekend or two training.
I don't know what all those items are for. Sure, if you're going to program a game you'll want to throw in a few gag items and a Hotel Callifornia. But don't overcomplicate things. What's a High Perfume and why would it effect spell points (magic points)? I'm old school, and would try to simplify the attack typing to "a a s a". Why, back in my day we spelled Salmon Steak "Iron Ration"! Is there a map function?
Still, the game looks pretty good.

They like

And I still can't think of a plot yet, although it has the Harbringers (Pestilence, Famine, War, Death, and Conquest) in the game as special bosses
